Lunenburg Wooden Boat Reunion

July 25, 2014 to July 27, 2014

Celebrate and enjoy wooden boats in historic Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada

The fourth annual Lunenburg Wooden Boat Reunion is scheduled for July 25 – 27, 2014.

Highlights of the weekend will include the Nova Scotia Schooner Association’s 8th annual Heritage Cup race for schooners and the Reunion Cup race other wooden sailing vessels, a small boat sailing race and the ever-popular putt-putt race between wooden boats with single cylinder “make and break” engines.

New for 2014 will be a “fast and furious” boatbuilding competition where teams are given an identical kit of supplies and a limited amount of time to create a vessel that they can maneuver through a race course on the harbour.  The first across the line, still afloat, wins bragging rights.

Canada’s oldest saltbank schooner, Theresa E. Connor, is celebrating her 76th birthday.  Her birthday party is during the Lunenburg Wooden Boat Reunion, so step aboard and celebrate.
